Reception > Jersey City, New Jersey

White Eagle Hall

White Eagle Hall is a music and theatre venue in a restored historic building in Downtown Jersey City.

Food? Filipino & Italian appetizers, then a dinner buffet from Jersey City’s own Next Door Provisions.

Bar? Open bar!

DJ? Dart Collective

Atmosphere? Not so formal– like going to a concert. There’s a stained-glass skylight of Chopin next to a disco ball. Dramatic! Fun!

Traveling by car

White Eagle Hall is located in the heart of Jersey City. Take the New Jersey Turnpike to I-78, then exit Columbus Dr. Or take local roads, like scenic Tonnelle Ave.

There is some street parking in the area, and a few paid garages are nearish. We STRONGLY suggest carpooling or using rideshare services to avoid the hassle of parking.

Traveling by plane

We recommend flying into Newark Liberty International (EWR) or LaGuardia Airport (LGA).

Read up on the Uber/Lyft situation at LGA before you head out. At EWR, request a ride and follow signs out to the curbside Ride App pickup area at your terminal.

Flying in and renting a car to drive around NJ and NY will probably make you insane, but go for it if you want. We use Avis and Hertz.

We fly United, Delta, and JetBlue regularly and think they are pretty good. Feel free to reach out to us for any flight advice!

Public transportation

White Eagle Hall and our recommended hotels are all within 1 mile of the Grove Street PATH train station which runs between New York City and New Jersey. ($2.75/ride)

The Hudson-Bergen Light Rail is also a convenient way to get around Jersey City, Hoboken and Union City. ($2.25)

Buses are also plentiful, operated by NJ TRANSIT (mobile app, tap to pay, cash) and also random guys (ever-present, cash only).

Why here?

Jules is endlessly proud to be from Hudson County, where Jersey City is located. It’s America’s most diverse, densely-populated, and unpredictable place. We’ve spent a lot of time here over the years and Mae has come to love it too.
